GENERAL INFORMATION
"Villa Los Loros" is a tourist company dedicated to offering excursions to Choqekiraw (Choquequirao). Our services include a comfortable lodge that is located close to the Arqueological Park (in Huanipaca valley). Our work in the area, welcoming an increasing number of Peruvian and foreigner tourists, has been recognized by the Tourism Ministry which, in 2008, rewarded "Villa Los Loros" for the quality of its tourist services.
Our mission is to satisfy tourists' expectations, to guarantee a secure and high quality service, and to offer excursions that are well-balanced between comfort and adventure.
We desire that our customers have an unforgettable travel experience and that "Villa Los Loros" be the best known and most recommended company for offering the most exclusive treks to Choqekiraw (Choquequirao).
We are the pioneer tourist company in the Huanipaca valley and we feel a responsibility to save the environment and to participate in the sustainable development of the area; thus we seek to minimize any negative impact on nature and maximize social benefits, creating employment opportunities for the local inhabitants.
VILLA LOS LOROS LODGE (PARROTS VILLAGE LODGE)
The lodge is located in Huanipaca, in the Province of Abancay, in the Region of Apurimac. The installations are 17 kilometers from Huanipaca, 85 kilometers from the city of Abancay and 200 kilometers from Cusco. view map
The Andean valley in this zone has a semitropical microclimate, mitigated by the perennial snowy mountain Qorihuayrachina (5.404 m.) that belongs to the Vilcabamba mountain range, with its hillside located in the Sanctuary of Choqekiraw (Choquequirao)
The lodge was designed to be in full harmony with the surrounding environment. While it has a rustic and natural feel, it also has very comfortable installations, including bungalow style bedrooms and a cozy dining room.
Each room is independent and has its own private bathroom with hot water 24 hours a day. Our large restaurant, built in a rustic style, has a picturesque and well-stocked bar and an area for relaxing, where you can watch television or listen to music. The kitchen offers a variety of homemade food, which we are confident our visitors will enjoy. Its storage room is supplied with products directly from our nearby garden and with rainbow trout from our trout pools.
The lodge has 220V electricity, satellite telephone and television signal, a camping area, and private parking.
By the side of the lodge runs the Tambobamba River, where the native Rainbow Trout Oncorhynchus Mykiss swim freely. The vegetation consists of a perpetually green forest with tall trees, such as the Pisonay Eritrhina Falcata and the Nogal Junglas Neotropica, which coexist with other natural life forms, such as rambling plants, epiphytes, shrubs, etc.
This ecosystem houses a great variety of birds, such as the White-winged Black-Tyrant Knipolegus Aterrimus, the Garrapatero Piquiliso Crotophaga Ani, the Tuya Pheuticus Aureoventris, and several hummingbirds, such as the Sparkling Violetear Colibri Coruscans, the Whitebelly Amazilla Leucipus Viridicauta, and the Amazilla Verdiblanca Leucipus Chionogastes.
It is a beautiful sight when the parrots visit the lodge - you can see the Macaw Redhead Aratinga Wagleri, the Macaw Redface Aratinga Mitrata, and the Andean Parakeet Bolborhynchus Orbygnesius.
High in the sky you can also see the aerial display of the American Kestrel Falco Sparverius and the Black- Chested Eagle Geranoaetus Melanoleucus. And, of course, one of the most attractive is the Andean Condor Vultur Gryphus with its wide wingspan and majestic flight
Among the mammals in the area are the Andean Fox Pseudalopex Culpaeus, the Deer Odocoileus Virginianus, the Spectacled Bear Tremarctos Ornatus, the "Capiso" Nasua nasua, the "Vizcacha" Lagidium Peruanum and the Puma Felix Concolor.
Our Travel Agency is located in Cusco: Avenida El Sol, Pasaje Grace, Edificio San Jorge, Office Nº 11. We are open to the public from Monday to Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and from 3:30 to 7:30 p.m. On Saturdays we are only available in the morning.
The reservation, which should be made at least a month in advance, must be done by email. We'll confirm room availability and request a 50% deposit. We will send you all the information you need to make the payment.
Once we've received the deposit, we'll send you a confirmation message by e-mail with the subject line "RESERVATION CONFIRMED". Then you will settle the remaining portion of the payment 8 days before the trip.
In the case that a reservation needs to be cancelled, it must be done by e-mail. The amount previously sent can be reimbursed, after the deduction of a transfer commission, according to the following schedule:

| Less than 14 days before trip | 0% |
If a customer does not show up or manage to contact us by the settled date of their participation, they will lose the right to travel, as well the right to be reimbursed.
In the short trips we organize, there are some risks due to the lack of medical centers, the state of the roads and the nature of mountain trekking itself. The client assumes the responsibility for the eventual consequences of risks that run outside the control of the company, and renounces any legal action against "Villa Los Loros" and its attending personnel.
We reserve the right to modify the schedule or to cancel the trip for reasons of customers' and staff security (threatening changes in weather, for example). In these cases, customers will be appropriately reimbursed.
In cases of controversy Peruvian Law will be applied, with jurisdiction of Abancay city Forum.
