CUSCO AND MACHUPICCHU, in 4 days and 3 nights

ITINERARY

First day / City Tour

There will be no activities in the morning so that you can get used to the altitude of Cusco (3.412 m.a.l.s.). At 1:30 p.m. we will pick you up from your hotel so you can take the city tour (the Cathedral, Qoricancha or Temple of the Sun) and so you can visit the Incas sites close to the city (Sacsayhuaman, Qenqo, Puca Pucara, Tambomachay).

Once the tour is finished we will return to the hotel at 6:00 p.m. At 7:00 p.m. we will go see the traditional dance performance at the Qosqo Native Art Center.

Second day / Sacred Valley Tour (Only on Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday)

Full day activity, with a visit to the traditional market of Pisac, the town of Ollantaytambo with its important Incan ruins, and the town of Chinchero with its small chapel and Incan ruins. Then we have a buffet lunch in a cozy restaurant close to Urubamba.

Third day / Machu Picchu Tour

We will pick you up from your hotel and transfer you to the train to reach Machu Picchu village; there we will take the bus to arrive at the Inca Sanctuary.

After we have had the guided visit of Machu Picchu (2 and a half - 3 hours aprox.), we will return to Machu Picchu village to have a buffet lunch in a tourist restaurant and then we will take the train to Cusco, where you will be transferred from the train station to the hotel.

BACKPACKER TRAIN OR VISTADOME?

The Backpacker train service is good; you can buy snacks or drinks for extra cost. The VistaDome train has more comfortable seats, larger side windows and windows on the roof, to appreciate the mountain scenery. Service includes a snack with warm drink.
